Anyone have American Coin Treasures & Hoards by QDB?

I saw this book referenced in another numismatic volume and it piqued my interest; however, being out of print, is relatively expensive.

If anyone could comment on this book, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I have a copy---it's a great read (as are many of QDB's books). A good addition to any coin collector's library.

Yes, I own it. It is an excellent book and reference. It comes from what I consider to be the golden era of QDB books, all of which are excellent. If you are interested specifically in shipwrecks, it is outdated and does not include some of the more recent salvage finds (though there is plenty of information on these elsewhere).

I would rank it in the top 10 of QDB books, but not in my personal top 5.

Great book, I really enjoyed reading it when it first came out. It's been long enough now, I may re-read it.

I have a copy, and it is a very good book. The last I knew it had gotten kind of pricey although I've not seen it offered for a while.

I have it in my library back in Maine. (It didn't make the ten book cut that I brought to school with me.) it's a fun read, I want to say I only paid about 35 bucks for a like new copy at the ANA Summer Seminar book sale a year or two ago.

An excessively good response by RYK. Longacre agrees with what he wrote.

For light reading, I enjoy QDB's Numismatic Companion series. For heavier reading, you cannot get better than the History of US Coinage.

I read the original manuscript in galley form, and then contributed a small chapter of my own. Very interesting read.
