Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
how about varieties that are only collected when there are more than 1 rev or obv shared die. so when the obv or rev are used with another die other than the original pairing/marriage. .
After getting caught out at the bar without its wedding bad the Rev Left it and it ended up paired with a completely different Rev die that is known for being lose and paired to 2 other rare (open) marriages in 74 & 76. I have not highlighted the MPD in the 2nd photo as the Rev is more important. It should be noted that the MPD Obv die is married to 3 different Rev dies and the Rev is only known with the MPD obv-- not counting the other dated coins.
That Rev with the two future exes Of note, there is an ex Col Green example of the 76cc Wide that was noted for being the wide CC on Col Green's coin flip in the up coming Newman sale HA. Anybody that is interested in it poses a rare opportunity.
