Hold the Alt key and hit the 0162 on the number pad to get a cents sign: ¢

Only shortcut I've ever known or used.

On a Mac the $ sign is <shift>4. Want a cent? Hit <option>4.

    Maybe not as intuitive.

If you're on a windows machine,

Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Character Map

will show you all the characters in any font. Select a character, and it gives you the alt-code in the lower right. Or you can copy the character to the clipboard and paste it in. Easiest way to find charcters like ©, ®, £, ¥, ½, €, etc.

Keep in mind if the character sets aren't translated properly (a lot of web sites are guilty of this), you won't get the same character you think you should. Like this is a smiley face in the character set, but this forum translates it like this: ☺ ("☺" is a standard html character reference.)

Edit: lol, the smiley face showed up as a smiley face when I typed it in, but showed up as a html reference in preview, and is a smiley face on the forum itself. In the preview window, it looked like "& # 9 7 8 6 ;" (remove the spaces...)

    That's what I've always used. Can't remember now when/where I found it.

Need the following OBW rolls to complete my 46-64 Roosevelt roll set:
    1947-P & D; 1948-D; 1949-P & S; 1950-D & S; and 1952-S.
Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!

    Doesn't work on my keyboard.

    ™ TM still works though.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Neat info for the coin forum.

Hold down Alt and enter any number from 128 to 255 will give you the upper 128 characters. Many of these were used for graphics back in the day.

Yep, I've been using that ¢ character for several years.
Another one I often use is alt+0176 for ° (degree).
I never thought that growing old would happen so fast.
