Hunter seems to be doing a little better. He has more and longer periods of being awake and alert. Seems to be eating better.
As long as nothing else occurs he will go back to the doctor Friday and they will see how he is progressing.

My wife was one of those babies that just didn't like being born. She was so weak and puny the first year
that they carried her around on a pillow.

Well, she's healthy, has two kids, four grandkids, and me (for the last 45 years).

Don't have any idea why or what, but it came out fine in the long run!

Of course they didn't have all that testing back in the mid forties!

One time I lost my memory for half an hour three days before Christmas. They took me to the hospital and kept

me there for two days. Had a dozen tests. MRI, Cat Scan, brain wave scan, echo cardiogram, blood work and more.

Since I had good insurance they gave me the deluxe diagnostic package. In the end they found nothing and said

what ever it was it corrected itself. They wanted me to stay another day and I told them to find a doctor to sign me out immediately

or I would create a scene they would never forget and I was home by Christmas. Never had another problem.

Were you genuinely upset, or did you simply want to be discharged?

Did you believe they were incompetent, because they couldn't diagnose the problem in two days? Often the scans from "deluxe diagnostics" require a specialist's eye (who may not have been present). Blood work can take a week or longer, depending on the number of tests and whether DNA or genetic testing is done.

Obviously I'm glad you never had a relapse but if they had looked longer they probably would've found it eventually.

I was upset as it was Christmas eve and we have a huge family party every year and I wanted to go home. The test were reviewed by the specialists the day before.
They called it a TIA and said it most likely rectified itself.
They kept me one more night for observation in case I had a stroke or heart attack. I was told in the morning that I would
be released as soon as the doctor made his rounds. He was in the hospital and only had to sign me out. After waiting five hours
the time had come for me to leave weather I was signed out or not. I got dressed and said this is your last chance for a
peaceful departure. The doctor came right up and signed the release.image

There are MANY serious problems with the medical care as it is set up in this country, but when we need care for a very serious problem, there is no better place in the world than any major medical center in any US city.

I consider those medical professionals who day after day give their all to help strangers, along with our military, police and firefighters, to be true heros.

Hunter went to the doctor today. He gained five oz. this week. After four weeks he is now back to his birth weight.
His voice and crying are still weak. The specialist said to wait 4 - 6 weeks to see if it gets stronger then go from there.
He will be headding to the beach with his family this weekend for some surf & sand and finally a little R & R!
Thanks again for all the prayers and good wishes.

    Peace be with you!

I went to see Hunter last night. He was finally able to grip my finger and hold on, was awake and alert and

looks more healthy. I cried again, however this time it was tears of joy.

He is still very small for 5 weeks and rarely fusses or cries. I say we are blessed with someone special.

He goes to doctor in two weeks to see how he has progressed. All the prayers and

well wishes from everybody on the forum helped us thru thoes first scary weeksimage

    Thanks to all !

I am very happy to hear that news.

I will keep praying for Hunter and your family.

You just made my Friday quite a bit better!
It is not that life is short, but that you are dead for so very long.
