Too late. I contacted the seller and I am going to buy the coin directly from her. All that I have to do is send her the funds via Western Union tomorrow.

I don't have enough money at the moment, so I plan to take out a mortage on that giant bridge in San Francisco that I bought last week on Craigslist .... as soon as the deed arrives in the mail. It is taking longer than expected.

John, I do not feel that anyone is making fun of YOu, but rather the fact that someone is trying to take advantage of you. Does it not help that a few pointed out that the pictures were doctored, and that the coin is the Potter coin? Sorry if you feel that you are being attacked, as I don't think that is the case.

The original post was 8:30am and talked about being sent this coin , exact same photo. Isn't it curious the coin was being offered at $2000 6pm this evening ? ...considering she had already said she would mail it to you.All attempts to get a 2nd picture of the coin met with stony silence.

So your agenda now is to disparage the boards and then have the thread deleted?
Having been a member for years certainly you know collectors here will mock that which isn't important so as to highlight that which is.

Hey guys new here, Figured this would be a good time to make an account lol. I was the one who busted that girl over there at Facebook, even made this picture for her. The sad part is even the brown background is the exact same, her's is just lighter because of the zoom. Either way, Im curious to see the outcome of this whole ordeal.

Whatever is sent to you in the mail, it won't be this coin, more likely an empty package or a plain old 69s cent. Next step would be to sue you for switching/stealing coins from this poor
young girl that is grieving for her daddy. How does a PCGS MS64 6-figure coin get cracked out and end up in a newbie's hands? Answer, it doesn't. My vote is that the package never gets to you or is never mailed. I agree that your odds of getting $40 MILL from a Nigerian prince are slightly higher than getting this coin. Is there an over/under bet on this transaction in Vegas so we can take advantage of it?

If the girl's name were "Potter" it would be more believable. Still, why would she have cracked the coin out. And if she's not related to Potter, how'd she end up with this coin. Even if stolen someone would have had to fork over big bucks to some pawn or coin shop to buy it. In full choice red mint state and few to no spots, this is a major rarity.

I know its a fake because the whole story dosent add up, ive been talking to this girl for a while and every time I call her out on something more excuses roll out. After being busted she said all I wanted was help and advice, even tho she clearly posted the coin for sale or trade. She claims to know not a lick about coins so why would she not take the 2 grand that was offered to her the first time? She claimed one coin shop offered her 4k, but he didnt have the money right then. What kind of coin shop dosent have the money to buy coins? How do you except to buy anything that comes into your door? Has anyone not pointed out the fact that thats a pretty well done picture of that coin. Ive been collecting for a while now, and for the past month have been trying to photograph my coins and still cant get it to be that good. Some didtsy girl who dosent know a thing about coins can all of a sudden take really good photos? Whose noticed the very right of the coin in the open area that was photoshopped a red hazy color to hide the very noticeable color changes on the original coin. Oh and one more thing, if she dosent know a lick about coins, why the hell would she go out of her way and join coin collecting facebook groups to post a PENNY and try to sell it? If she really didnt know anything about coins, she wouldnt have even noticed the coin to begin with, she would have said oh its just a penny throw it away. The easiest way to settle the whole matter would be to just take another picture, why has she not done this? Sad to see the measures people will do to scam money..

Agreed - this seems the most likely outcome.

I know one thing about this 'fishy' story.

I certainly wouldn't want the OP to write the mailing label to PCGS.

With his grammar it may end up half way around the world.
