Some Half Dimes i almost passed on.

Type2Type2 Posts: 13,985 ✭✭✭✭✭
This all started about two months ago. I walked in to a B/M and a dealer tossed me a lunch bag with some silver coins he pulled out 4 halfs and ask what will i pay for the rest. I saw some Half dime's, Barber dime's and some large cents and a Barber half so i spit out $150 he say $180 i said ok took them home and a month later i looked at them and said they dont look to bad and the rest is history. Here is some of the Half Dimes the rest of the coins will be back next week some time.

You wanna make your money back just on those 7 coins? Then everything else in the bag is gravy.
Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.

Wow. You got the 66-s dirt cheap and everything else for free. Nice deal. It's like being thrown back to the 1970's again. It still happens.

You gotta love it when the LCS guy grades "conservatively." I have one of those about 50 miles from me but that shop is staked out by a couple of vest pocket dealers
who check in daily on newps and collections.

Well the harder i work at getting coins the lucker i get. It takes time and being at the right place at the right time helps as well, There was a guy buying foreign coins i wonder what he got he tossed him a small bag as well call it what you want... image But i still have the coins just rec them about 30 min ago. The Lg cent did not do as good but worth some $$ as well this was a smoking deal, I almost let it go crazy.

Like the LCS in the OP's thread is not the primary vulture preying on the public? The rip by Type2 was preceded by the dealer paying the owner peanuts.

I agree wholeheartedly with the YOU SUCK - wanted to say it last nite (or "worse"!) - been here I don' know how long and still have no clue if/who you have to be to award the coveted YOU SUCK. image

    Very nice!
I don't know pricing, and haven't looked them up, but just going by the pics, I like the first 2 (1870 and 1839) the best.
Visually, that 1839 would look great with a circ typeset that have been doing. Very nice looking image

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
