March 12, 1987- Les Miserables opens on Broadway and is still running strong image
March 12, 1793- After 12 days of production, the chain cent is discontinued with 36,103 minted; it began on my brother's birthday, March 1

The only historic thing I know happened a wee bit later.
I was born on May 25 1941 and was baptized on December 7th 1941 "A day that will live in infamy"
It was pretty strange that so many years later the movie Pearl Harbor was to be released on my birthday May 25th.
A thing of beauty is a joy for ever

How about history after you were born?

I was born on March 30, 1962 and the assasination attempt on Ronald Reagan was on March 30 in either
    '82 or '83.

Going back in history, I don't have a clue what happened. image

The only thing I can think of without going to a web search is that, on March 22, 1966 the US Mint was still punishing collectors by withholding mintmarks and proof sets.

A few people died on my birthday - Actors Lee Marvin, Ingrid Bergman (also her birthday), Brigham Young, and Anissa Jones (Buffy on tv show Family Affair) and the King of Pop Michael Jackson. Also the Communist Party in the Soviet Union was officially disbanded on my birthday and Strom Thurmond had a filibuster that lasted over 24 hours in Congress (I think he is still a member of the US Congress).
