Will Goo-Gone damage coin *** Results with pictures in 1st post ***

I have a coin that appears to have some kind of old, dried adhesive. Will Goo-Gone damage coin or what else should I use? The coin is of no great monetary value, however I don't want to damage it further if Goo-Gone will damage it.
Thanks.

I don't think so. What's its active ingredient? I forget.
I think it is OK for a coin with no real monetary value. I've used similar products on low-value coins, and I think I might have used Goo-Gone a time or two. Worst case scenario, it might change the coin's color, but I don't remember having any problem on that score (if in fact it was Goo-Gone I was using- I think so).
Of course acetone is probably the solvent most commonly used.

Thanks for all of the answers. I'll try acetone first.
Here's the coin.
The substance I want to remove is on the reverse.
I'd be interested in what it is once you have it in hand.

LOL! I can't figure out how it was used as jewelry. Perhaps it was hung from a pin, probably with other things, and worn as a medal over the chest,,,, much like military medals.
