  I think mine is an 1820 Randall Hoard large cent. I bet it is an 1818 or 1820 cent for a lot of people.....

  1840s does it for me for actual MS graded coin, but I have an 1800 half dime in AU-53.

  1832 Half Dime, MS-63

  I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector.
  Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.

  I bought this coin ten years ago, from Forum member Dahlonega. He purchased it in Stack's portion of Auction '84, which he attended in Dearborn, Michigan, on his 35th birthday. The coin is ex-Arthur Montgomery, former President of the Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta. The Montgomery Collection is still regarded by specialists as one of the finest Dahlonega gold collections ever assembled.   For me it is an MS64 1881-S Morgan Dollar. My coins older than that are XF or AU.
  Never thought about it before.

  It all depends upon what you define as "U.S." If it is the regular issue coins that started in 1793, it would be this 1794 large cent, S-21.
  
  
  
  
  If you got back to the pre-federal period, it would this 1787 Fugio Cent, Newman 8-X, which is a New York Bank hoard variety:
  
  
  
  
  If you go be to the colonial era, it would be this 1773 Virginia half penny, which is also a hoard variety in Mint State.

  Oldest ever owned was an 1819 cent in 63.
  
  Currently own an 1841 in Proof, but it will be offered in an upcoming auction.
  
  Just sold an 1854 proof cent.
  
  Own and keeping an 1858 cent in proof.
  
  Oldest current MS coin (not proof) is the cherriest 1864 with L cent I've ever seen.
