Ya' got my attention.
I hope it's a new pop top of a circulating coin.
It was one of those coins that just pops at you out of that $8 proof set and says...take a gamble...submit me. You know the type, the ones that need a 69 DCAM grade to even cover your grading costs. The type that you say...you're a beautiful coin...but I don't really need to send more of my money to Newport Beach only to be disappointed. I thought to myself...this one HAS to be a 69 DCAM...after making 3 68 DCAM's of the date. Well, I was wrong once again...but this time, I was pleasantly surprised by changing the Condition Census on the top end...adding the only 70 DCAM of the date and denomination...in fact it's the only 70 DCAM in a 10 year stretch.
So knowing that I'm a collector of 1950-70 proofs...anyone want to peruse the pop reports and guess at the coin that I made? (We just as well drag this out a little bit as I won't be able to post pictures until I get it in hand later this week.)

Ok, out on a limb here...68-S 50C

That's impressive. There aren't too many 70 coins of any kind from that era. Well done!
Dying to know!

I made a 1968-S PCGS PR70 DCAM Roosevelt Dime!
There are 2 - 1964 70 DCAM's and 9 - 1973-S 70 DCAM's...and my coin is the only one in between.
I hadn't requested a TrueView on the coin...as who would have dared hope for a 70, and the margin is tight enough on a 68 or 69 DCAM, and unfortunately, it doesn't appear that PCGS pulled it for a CoinFacts photo.
Since there are no other 70's of the date at either TPG, and no value in either price guide...I suppose I have a truly "priceless" coin.

I don't do moderns but WOW! That sounds like an amazing accomplishment, possibly a small lottery win too! Well done! Congrats.

I submitted the coin under the Modern Tier.
The coin will be available for sale, I just can't justify tying up a coin of this value in my collection.
I'd love some advice on marketing a coin of this caliber and any parties you would recommend working with. Feel free to send your thoughts via PM if you're not comfortable sharing in the public forum. Thanks.
You can try wondercoin although idk if he likes dimes. :-)
Pricing? Hmmmmmm....I'd toss out a number of 3000-5000. Maybe more if it's in an auction and several want it.
What about Mitch, Wondercoin?
Looking forward to seeing a photograph of this newest 70DCAM (I wonder if you could tell it apart from the PCGS 1968S PF69 DCAM dimes that exist?).
Look at the listings of PCGS and NGC registry sets for proof Roosevelt Dimes to see who your potential buyers would be. Send them emails to ask them if they are interested in your new coin. Whenever you sell it, I hope you set a new price record for a proof Roosevelt Dime.
So are you bummed out a little that Keets beat you to the punch and posted this thread before you received the coin back from PCGS and posted your own thread on your good fortune?
Windfalls like this are a great way to finance a collection or to look for even more windfalls.
I'm sure it will work out well for you and the buyer.

I think perhaps auctioning it through Heritage might be your best shot in order to realize it's true potential. Either that or email whomever has the #2 Roosevelt dime registry set and offer it to them. For a pretty penny, of course.

<< <i>Not a single "you Suck"? Is that uncouth now? >>
No one know if it is truly a "you suck" because there is no way to value the coin until it sells. It is a "you suck" in the making though.
