    Thanks Stephanie.

When DH removes the (3) "honorable mention" coins that are either illegal to own or govt. property, the set will actually be one that has a shot at being completed. But, it is as challenging as nearly any registry set out there ... classic or modern.

If one had $5,000,000.00 to spend, it is uncertain whether one could complete this set in a years' time (or even two years time) in my opinion. 90% of the coins for sure. 95% of the coins probably. 100% complete ... nearly impossible at this time.

SoCalbigmark: The Washington quarter set I spend the most time with (1932-date w/o all of the MN trees) now has 503 required coins (and rising every year). You can only be so "hot" with the set. By the 100th Anniversary of the Washington Quarter in about 18 or 19 years, the set will likely be 800+ coins.

Wow...had not thought about that.... but very true. Seems like the Washington Quarter may be the largest set of all U.S. coins...Cheers, RickO

Yes, and of course, I am including the Cherrypickers' guide varieties in that 800 coin figure (and closer to 900 coins if one included all of the MN tree varieties).

While you might be right that 800 or 900 coins could make it the largest denominational set of any US coin series... the only other set that comes to mind with quite possibly more coins (at that future point) might be the Lincoln Cent series, especially since it started 23 years earlier than the Washington quarter. Again, assuming Lincoln cents continue to be produced in the immediate future.

And to think I am struggling with my limited set of 26 Mercury Dime Varieties. 800-900 is quite ambitious.
