The word "extra" begins with an E. The word "fine" begins with a F.
It should be EF but some people like to get creative. If you really want to get creative and you want to use the second letters of the words then it should be XI. Why mix them up. Silly.

It's obvious we can't all agree on how to apply the ANA standards, but couldn't we at least agree on the names? They are standardized.
EF = Extremely Fine (not Extra Fine, btw)
XF = Xtremely Fine (no such word!)
