Want lists rule! Thanks to Brian Cushing for this 1839-O 50c!

The short story here is that having want lists with the various fine dealers out there is a good thing! Out of the blue I get an email from Brain Cushing of Dick Osburn RC mentioning that they just landed an 1839-O half in PCGS XF-45, and if I was interested. Of course my curiosity was aroused and I awaited the next email with images. I know this date is very scarce to begin with, and decent, original pieces are even scarcer. As soon as I saw the images, I knew it needed to be in my collection! It was appropriate that I picked up this coin in the New Orleans ANA Money show and closed the deal there. Hopefully y'all like this example, it appears unmessed with and has that 'antique' look in hand, along with flashes of luster at the edges. I'll need to use some Plast-X for the slab scratches later...

The '39-O is pretty special. Congrats on finding a beauty.
Now polish out those scratches and show us more nice images. Your white balance looks perfect. Try two lights (10 and 2 o'clock).

I have a fond memory of Brian, as he sold me my one and only 1877 Trade $1 that Crypto79 attributed as a DDO FS-101.
