Purchased Part Of A Tiny Collection Today

So I'm one of those guys that tells everyone about my collection. Not random strangers on the street, mind you, but my co-workers and family all know that I am an active numismatist. I'm often sought after for appraisals and as a buyer. Today a good friend of mine came into the office with his late father's collection. There was nothing really "rare" about it. Proof sets from the 70's, 80's, 90's, and 00's. A couple commemorative rounds, a silver round, a lonely Morgan. We looked at it and I jot down the complete contents and did some quick research. I had warned him ahead of time that the monetary value would probably be rather low. I gave him the median hammer prices on Ebay for all of the items listed. I also told him that he'd end up paying 10-11% in fees as well.
We talked some more and I ended up buying a silver round, bicentennial silver set, the dirty Morgan and a few comem's for $80. We decided that the proof sets would make excellent birthday presents to give to all the grandkids. Hopefully that'll spark the collecting bug in a few of them. They're moving his mother to an assisted living facility so they're scraping together what money they can to help finance it. While I didn't really *want* to buy what I did I wanted to help out a friend. I'll stash it in my safe and hope it appreciates in a few years. Might try dipping the Morgan because she's really jacked up, just for fun.
Here's some quick pictures. I actually really dig the silver round. It's unique! There were also about six pennies stamped with a Free Mason logo. I asked if I could have one and he said sure. Just a neat piece. Thanks for reading

It is I love it. If the whole thing was toned the way the rim is I'd love it even more

<< <i>That Morgan caught my eye right off the bat and I really hope it's not what I think it is.
It weighed in okay and isn't magnetic. No mintmark. 1883-P.

Odd. It almost seems like it's silver plated. I thought it was just ugly mottled toning, I didn't get it much of a thorough inspection at the time of purchase, now though... Interesting

Upon further further inspection it seems like the pink mottled stuff chips off when scratched and it is silver underneath. Weird. We'll see if I can't get it cleaned up somehow.
