NGC MS66
This one has good luster for a Stone Mountain that I have not learned to capture yet.
Good eye appeal and zero hairlines in hand.
Thanks for looking and the input. Have a good derby day!

That's a nice one. Strong 66 without having seen it in-hand to check for luster and hairlines.

    65. There are quite a few bag marks on there. It's my understanding that bag marks don't constitute a "problem coin" in the eyes of TPGs, but a 66 is usually reserved for coins with (at the very most) one or two distractions visible to the naked eye. As it is in an NGC holder, I guess 66 is a possibility... but IMO this is a 65.

I prefer the one they produced. Less text, more focus on the design. Cool trivia bit though.

64 or 64+ to me. Perhaps PCGS 65.

"Trivia Pic: I like this model more than the one they produced.. (borrowed pic)."

It is nice, but the feeling of dizzying height is lost with all that text over the mountain, and the eagles feathers look rather disordered on the right. The Obv. also seems unfocused/unbalanced with the other horse.

    Best wishes,
    Eric

I believe that was the consensus on why it was not chosen..
There were also good arguments that the obv. in the model depicted the scene in motion better,
which I tend to agree with.

Grade posted on the example: N66 - Has good luster and excellent eye appeal.

    Thx -Ron

And easily a 66 in a PCGS holder, as well.
