First, the seller didn't even care enough about this high end card to change the description from his usual "you are bidding only on the card in the title....." I understand that the few buyers that will shell out the kind of money it will take to win this card don't need a fluffy description, but still.
Second, the $3.00 shipping. This is just stupid because it will likely cost him 10X that amount to ship it correctly.
Like I said, most likely neither thing will take away from the final price, but they're both just stupid.
<< <i>At least we know the back scan won't be scaring away bidders. >>
Three stupid things, I stand corrected.
Thanks for pointing that out Tom.
I hope the last few minutes/seconds of this auction are not anticlimactic!
<< <i> First card in set and nice image of Aaron with the bat. >>
Infinitely superior to his regular card in the set, which is really pretty crummy.
<< <i>By the way, am I the only one on the planet who has always been bothered by the "all star" being on Hank's highlight card in 1975 instead of his regular card (#660)?
Thank you!

No, because I never realized that before. But, now it bothers me.
<< <i>is that your card that is being auctioned Mr. Snuffleupagus?? >>

The question was so absurd he gave you an absurd response.
<< <i>I take that gibberish as a yes. You know, this really needs to be in the other section. If I had acted like you did, the peanut gallery would be out in full force ready to tar and feather me. They have a BUY/SELL/TRADE section that is perfect for people touting their own auctions. >>
Shocking that you're so well liked around here!

Sorry C-Dude....just stating the truth. Do you think if I did that, I would get a free pass?? Really?? Come on now.

By the way that is NOT gibberish. "Fax mentis, incendium gloria cultum," et cetera, et cetera... Memo bis punitor delicatum! It's all there! Black and white, clear as crystal! It is Pig Latin.... Now GOOD DAY, SIR! Bobby? Do you know where the Oompa Loompas are? I hope they are not with Elmo!!!!

Edit: You beat me to it Grote. I didn't do as well as I expected, but, would you want to help me spend the proceeds from the sale?
It was a great night for me - won 4 huge cards I have been chasing awhile:
The #1 Aaron HL Mini 2K
The 1973 #1 Ruth/Aaron/Mays 10 pop1 3.8K (still cant believe I actually won this card)
The 1971 B. Robinson psa9 3.5K
The 1971 Blyleven rookie psa9 3.1K
I don't think any of them were overpriced like some of the white-whale commons that have killed me.
This is one of the best nights I can remember in collecting!
Amazing purchases
Can't find that 73 #1 card - was it on eBay?

That left edge is kinda wavy. Make sure yo give it a good look when you get it in hand Henry.

Good call. Seems to narrow a bit at the top. Could just be the scanner but definitely worth a look.
<< <i>Thanks guys...I kept complete radio silence on that one

Whoa! Nicely done. That is an amazing haul, and no 20% buyer premiums!

You think they would have ended at the same price on a non-ebay AH with a 20% BP?
Three stupid things, I stand corrected.
If you were in the auction it would be 4 stupid things.

Wow, congrats! I was watching all these auctions close in amazement at the prices. I picked up the Winfield RC and the 1971 Munson from the same seller. Looks like a good night for both of us!
TheClockworkAngelCollection
Once I started seeing what everything was closing at, I just assumed I'd lose the Munson. My high bid was right around what it closed at and I figured someone else would jump in but there were no bids late and I can now cross one of my must haves off my list
TheClockworkAngelCollection
Not everything is about you, it was a dig at nam.
I'm not sure you really know what's going on; kind of an inside thing. But if you want to ignore me for no apparent reason then I guess I can't stop you.
Congrats on the purchase.
