I haven't seen any proof that your constant criticism of these coins is not of a nefarious nature, so I will conclude that you have a personal stake in steering people away from the coins.
What's "fair and balanced" got to do with it? So- some people like the coins and want to talk about them and you think it's necessary to repeatedly rain on their parade? Nice.
Do any of the dealers on this site know if the Canadian Hoard was just randomly sent to the dealers involved or did any dealer either here in the USA or Canada get to choose? Does anyone here have any knowledge? Just askin' for clarification. It is true that the video did not state preference was given. But does anyone here have any first hand knowledge? That would be appreciated.

I guess if they are baggy they would grade lower, but my experience is not consistent with baggy coins. Go to my website to see about a dozen that are or were for sale.
Haven't received mine yet (no surprise there -- RCM is verrryyyy slow with these); but the photos others have posted online, including Tom B's excellent photos, show some generally quite nice coins. I haven't seen anyone post photos of totally beat up coins from this hoard.

Considering Sandy's description of the entire hoard, and that the Mint subsequently sorted out the worst 7/8 of the coins (to the best of their ability) and sent them to the melting pot, I would not expect too many ugly coins to be left.
Anyway, I'm happy with my one set.

I think Realone is trying to talk them down to buy them cheaper. He really does like them.
After waiting nearly just shy of 3 1/2 months, and seeing 'In process' for order status, I've lost so much desire for this. At first, I thought it was a great coin, and I've wanted a nice graded Canadian coin, as I go there a few times a year to visit friends....shout out to Drummondville!...and thought this would be a cool coin to own, a cool distinctive insert, with possible potential (possible). Well, the clocks get set ahead this weekend, so I got fed up and earlier today (3:30pm ET) cancelled my 1913 $5 'regular' (I don't know what it's called, but it's the non-premium-hand-selected-with-white-gloves version....just the regular $500 piece), so there's one available if someone's looking for one. I'll be more than happy to use the funds to buy a nice U.S. coin
If I want to venture to this coin at a later date, I'll just have to see what's what with them at that point. I am also not accusing or knocking anyone, as I obviously don't know enough about it, but on the surface, the dealer picking thing I read about is a bit disheartening to hear (whether it's some sort of misundertanding in translation, or a real conspiracy, who knows), if true. But, regardless of what went on, is going on, whether there's a conspiracy or not.....waiting the better part of 3 1/2 months (who knows how much longer I'd have had to wait) for a product the RCM had 'in-hand', well, in my mind, theres no call for that (yes, I know alot of collectors sometimes wait YEARS for 'that' coin, for the 'right' coin, but that's usually found at/by a dealer/auction, some other venue, but not the Mint....I do not consider flipping material that 'right kind' of coin). I don't consider these Canadian pieces to be that 'right kind' of coin, that 'just the right one' coin. Perhaps to Canadian collectors, a high grade example may be a big deal, but I really dunno...so I'm not remorseful at all....just means I just 'found' $500 to spend on another, U.S. coin, and I'm pretty sure I can find a nice U.S. coin for $500 (BST, here I come!).
The U.S. Mint wouldn't even do that, as far as delaying shipping on an actually 'in stock' item......I think............ (or, am I giving too much credit to our mint here because it's due them, or because of the overly lengthy wait at the RCM leaving a very sour taste in my mouth??). Anyway, the 'gloss' has disappeared from these for me....and I really did like it at first.
I did receive my 1913 and 1914 $10's but appear to be in the minority of the collectors on this board.
As I have stated previously, the RCM has botched the roll out of this promotion and has likely lost potential future business with US customers as a result.
I am happy with my two coins (I am glad that I did not buy six!) but if I had to do it over again, I would have bought two graded coins from TomB. C'est la vie.
(PM sent to Realone to buy my coins from me, so I can buy two from TomB )

I heard through the grapevine (and probably it's just 'gossip') that the coins were separated in three groups.
1. Scuffed-up junk that was to be melted. 2. Saleable 'MS' quality for the retail trade. 3. Very high MS grade coins that I heard the 'helpers' (a few knowledgeable collectors/dealers/graders) of the RCMint Hoard got to choose from.
