I've decided to post this on both U>S> and world forums. Is there such a thing as a Philippine type set album by one of the major coin holder companies?
Darn good question. I saw one years ago, but if I recall correctly it was fabricated by a collector on his own. It looked good though, but it's the only one I have ever seen. Good Luck!!!
The Philippine Numismatic and Antiquarian Society had one a few years back. Its not in production now but there may be people out there who have second hand stuff
I would also be interested. I have a board that holds the last four or five type sets (gotta find it) with all holes filled but would really like an album that at least covers the US/Philippine coins.
I found someone who had a hoard of these albums. If anyone is interested, I can go see if they are still available.
The thing is, they are not type set albums but complete sets, and put out by volume. They contain holes for every year the coins were issued, including the variations. There is a hole for those from every mintmark, even 2 holes for the 1905 20 centavo coin (the recut and non recut version).
Volume 1 covers the Spanish-Philippines coins, volume 2 covers the US-Philippines series from the 1 centavo to 10 centavo series and volume 3 covers the 20 centavos to 1 peso and the QMR commonwealth commemoratives (vol 4-6 covers the republic series from 1947 straight throughout to the commemoratives in volume 6). They cost about $25 dollars each.
Also, I'm in the Philippines and its extremely expensive to send them by mail. Would anyone be interested?
1907quarter, your same topic came up on the Darkside the other night, in this thread. Apparently Whitman put out such a type album at one time, but they're discontinued. I'm guessing this would have been in the 1960's, as that seems to have been the Golden Age of Darkside coin albums, at least by Whitman.
Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.
Yes Whitman Publishing Company, Racine Wisconsin, copyright 1964. It covers Philippine Type Set Collection Spanish 1864-1897, United States 1903-1945, and Republic Issues 1947-. I have one (1).

I have this too, still trying to get the thing filled.
I have three 7070s filled, one with gold and can't finish my doggone Philippines type set.
This was Whitman album 9625. It was available at least through 1965, is listed on the flyleaf of my British Farthings album of that year. I couldn't find listings for any folders, though, which surprised me--maybe mine just don't include the listing.
What a fantastic thing! Wish those kind of albums were still around. That would be some fun junkbox time.
I have the whitman Philippine type album and volumes 2+3 for US issues of Philippine coins by the Philippine Numismatic and Antiquarian Society and am trying to fill them all-not as easy as it may seem.
The Whitman album appears on ebay every once in a while. I have not seen any of the Philippine Numismatic and Antiquarian Society albums emerge for quite a while. I got these two albums from smoeone in the Philippines 10-12 years ago. These albums are rarely seen.

(Many of the coins were minted in the US, so I guess it can be on this forum)
