    I never had a downgrade.
I collect Capped Bust series by variety in PCGS AU/MS grades.

Are we talking regrades, crack outs, guarantee submissions? All?

    Upgrades, a couple.
Downgrades, none (quite rare, I'd think).
But I've only played this game a little. At this point I'd rather buy the right coin in the correct plastic at the right grade and keep and enjoy it. I'm not above scooping up and flipping something if it's obviously undergraded, but I don't put enough time or effort into it to make it a winning game.

I will answer this for cross over from other services - Since my aim is to get my coins correctly graded and in PCGS, i place "any" in the box that asks for minimum grade. Some coins do not cross because of cleaning, recolor, etc.; BUT for those that DO cross, My estimated results over about 200 crosses are:

    NGC - Down 35%; Up 1% (only one +)
ANACS - Down 20%; up 10% Very fortunate here
    ICG - Down 15%; up 0%

I usually only buy circulated non-PCGS coins. That way, a downgrade from AU-53 to AU-50; or VF 30 to VF 25, is not too significant. If I choose carefully, get a bean if justified, then at the end of the day, I'm adhead of the "game". And it is a game of course.

Regrades (none). Crackouts (no downgrades). Guarantees (50/50).

I purchased quite a few of BarberFanatic's choice original barber 1/2's he cracked out of our hosts holders to put in a Dansco. Right now I would say over 1/2 have down graded and every 40 is now a 35. image I have quite a good start on a set of 35's that are better than the majority of 40's out there.
