A Selection of Seated Halves from my Collection - sort of....

Walkerguy21DWalkerguy21D Posts: 12,141 ✭✭✭✭✭
Call this a reverse-SPAM thread if you will......after some debate and soul searching, I decided last weekend to depart with my seated half collection, knowing I would never come close to finishing it, with other priorities and interests in life. Prefering to sell the whole group (36 coins), I ran a BST flyer last weekend, almost hoping there would be no interest (so I'd be 'forced' to retain them). But as fate would have it, it sold rather quickly and the new owner/forum member is pleased with them, so they are gone. But I did get a few pics of some of the highlights prior to packing them up - please feel free to share your thoughts. My favorites were the ones that started my collection - a group I got from a local dealer who bought an old collection that had been housed in a Wayte Raymond album for many years. I'm guessing you'll be able to spot them image

Now that "the horse is out of the gate", I'll tell you this anyway - you have a very good eye for Seated Liberty Halves. But, what you mentioned is also true - you simply can't collect everything. Congrats on a quick sale!

Nice coins! I love the 1841. I would have paid $100 more for them. Maybe you can send them to me anyway while I run to the bank. Tell the buyer your son spent them on video games.

Thanks - the 1841 seems to be everyone's favorite - it's a relatively low mintage coin, and admittedly it's the one I spent the most $$ on.
ANACs had it graded AU50, but I considered it XF45 due to lack of luster.

Very sweet group. Of course the '41 really stands out, but I also like the colors of the '72 and '73. image
