Honestly how was the Long Beach show?

I was planning to attend, but the flu got me down. My personal experience has been that it has been non eventful over the last few years. Having said that, what was it really like this last year?

My take is that if :
you are a collector that was lucky enough to find some great coins at a reasonable price...................it was a great show.
you are a dealer and had tons of sales and great buying opportunities...............................................it was a great show.
you were a dealer or and collector and received some killer grades on some raw submissions.............it was a great show.

I had 2 out of three so, it was a great showimage

It was great - very crowded, lots of sales, lots of purchases, etc.

I went Saturday and never peeked at the floor as I knew half the dealers would be gone. I went to attend the PCGS intro to grading class...thats was great.

The guns shows are slowing as gramma and granpa have all the ar-15's they need, now they are back to the coin shows for silver and gold. Next week they are going to stock up on can goods at the supermarket. .22 ammo has now hit 20 cents a round.image

The 40+ years olds that bought 3 to 10 ar-15's for 3k and mags for a 100 a pop will be selling in a few more weeks at a big loss and the money will come back to coins

On Saturday the bourse was still very full, very different from prior years.

A true coin buyer would rather go to a slow show in the hope of finding dealers eager to discount their coins.

    This wasn't that show.

We had our best Long Beach show EVER! That dates back to the 1980's, so we are talking about
a pretty good sample size. Not every day was as frenetic as other shows have been, but overall
    we had a great show.
