Anyone Getting Hit By The Blizzard?

We are expected to get hit with 18-24 inches of snow here in Rhode Island. Should be a lot of fun shoveling tomorrow.

It's ugly here on Long Island ... wind and snow and wind and snow ... Supposed to fall until early afternoon tomorrow. A little less here though ... 12"-18". Be safe.

Must be just barely too far west in Altoona, PA. we only got about less than 1 inch today and were not suppose to get anymore.

We have about 8 inches already here in Easton, MA and we are in the jackpot zone of 24"+. Thank goodness for my snowblower and I have to keep reminding myself I will be in Tampa in a week, I will be in Tampa in a week, I will be in Tampa in a week...................

I am just north of Phila, PA and we have just an inch or so. However, the roads are slick. I had to pick up my son from a sleepover because the other child got sick and was throwing up. We are supposed to get only about 4 to 6 inches. Good luck to all in the blizzard area and stay safe. Remember to keep pets safe also.

Getting pounded here on the coast in Salem, MA. They are saying 24+ by morning, at least 10-12 inches now. Driving ban in the entire state since 4pm. Only seeing a plow every 2 hours on our street, hard to even see where the street is right now, nothing to define it. Winds of 40 sustained, gusting to 60, luckily still have power, although it is still early in the storm. It wasn't bad until 5pm or so, and it should be horrible until 7am they are saying.

Getting buried where Im at, Im going to shovel 1 more time before bed, it sucks cause I got to be at work at 7 am, already got my Dunkin Donuts Ice Coffee in the fridge though but up at 5:30 am to shovel and take it sloooooooooow to work

Good luck in the morning. I shoveled a couple of times then I just surrendered as the snow was just coming down too fast. Already about 8 to 10 inches on the ground. Only good thing is that the heavier rain/snow mix has been shoveled away so it should be lighter tomorrow...I hope anyway.

Took me 2 hours to get home and they let us leave work at 2pm, LOL. At least it was light out when I was traveling home.

Everyone take it easy if you shovel tomorrow...that schmidt is heavy.

My power went out over night while I slept and came back on at 5:30 when I woke up - nice planning

Temp in the house only dropped to 62 while the power and heat were out. On it's way back up now

I'm happily drinking a cup of coffee I wasn't expecting to be able to do so soon

I live in Parma, which is a suburb of Cleveland and we got just a little snow. It was windy yesterday but doesn't look too bad today...I'm glad because my daughter plays for basketball for Valley Forge high school here and they have a game this afternoon......al.

24.5 inches here in West Greenwich, RI . Not a problem though as it should all be gone by July. On a positive note, I still have power as of this writing...

30+ inches here in CT. My black labs woke me at 4:15 am to let them out, but I couldn't open the door all the way. I got out and started shoveling...took me two hours to make a path to my garage so I could get my snowblower....taking a break now....I think its worse than the blizzard of '78 when I was in college....I"m very happy to have power as I lost it for 10 days during the last big storm....

winters seem to be getting milder and milder up here in canada (between toronto and ottawa). very little snow this year but we got hit pretty hard the last 24 hours. my school actually closed friday at lunch--first time i can remember that happening.

Milwaukee got our "big" storm on Thursday, but we only got 6-8 inches or so. Luckily most of it came in the afternoon, so I was able to stay on top of shoveling.

For those of you getting hit super hard and can't leave, hopefully you have some wax laying around. When your finally done taking care of the sidewalks and driveways, reward yourself and rip some! Or, if anything find a nice beauty on the bay!

I'm on the North Shore of Long Island ... almost half way between New York City and Montauk. We got hit the hardest out of all of Long Island. Looks like 27 inches in my town. A couple towns away got 32 inches. Just sitting here putting off going outside to clear this stuff. I'll be out there in the next 30 minutes.

the pictures remind me of the awesome storm we had here in the Cleveland area back in 78.....I worked downtown and leaving work was a real trip......haven't seen anything like that here since then...some big storms but nothing like the one back in 1978.....and it can stay that way as far as I am concerned!!!

I made it out to the street. I'll be right over to collect that rack case Tim.

We got 24 inches here. I'm just south of Doug on Long Island. Going back out to shovel some more. I'll post some pictures later.

For you poor unfortunate souls who live in Florida (John ...LOL), here are a few more shots. The two paths I cleared took about 1.5 hours to friggin shovel.

Those two large "MUSHROOMS" sitting in my driveway are a car and a 4x4.

Heading back out in a few to get some more done. Now that I have a path into the street I am going to see if I can borrow my neighbors snow-blower to do the driveway.

Edited to add: That path from my house to the street is on my grass. I have an oil delivery coming Monday morning and if you don't clear a path to the filler pipe (since there is more than 2 feet of snow) the guy might get either real pissed or just skip my house!

When I was stationed at Ft Drum, we had a snow plow - I would have to have one in the garage if I had any kind of snow!

Well ... turns out that I can't even get the snow blower from my neighbors to my house. (The town is usually EXCELLENT in getting the streets plowed right away. As I sit here, there is over 2 feet of snow in the street. I guess you need the big machines to remove that much snow and the town only has so many of those.) I would have to clear a path in the street with the blower before I even got to my house. I'll wait until the streets are plowed before freeing the cars and clearing the driveway. I'm sure as hell not going any where!

Doug - right now we are doing OK.
Matt - After living in this area for almost 55 years ... snow is no longer fun! Can't wait to get down to Florida.
Tim - Those are, unfortunately, LONG GONE! LOL
Mike - Yeah, I can think of MANY things to do that would be better than shoveling.

We got 23" in Western Mass. It took a few hours to get everything cleaned up. It wasn't too bad. I raked my roof too because they are calling for rain showers on Monday. That would have been a lot of weight up there.

Doug, you will sleep good tonight having shoveled all of that.

We had our first football game today and the boys were soaked after first half! I hink we hit 82 here in Daytona Bch.
The 27th wll be even warmer.
