I sent an email out about making the date sets weighted differently based on the coin used for the date. ie 96-O half in 65 compared to a 96-P half in 65 should be weighted differently and reward the person finding the tougher coins.

That's a lot of programming with little driver behind it. although very logical I don't see it being practical to implement for pCGS.

I would like (if it does not already exist) a registry set with an entry for each year from 0-2013 and beyond. Or, perhaps for the earliest coins, you could do every ten years or so. Any coin from any country could go in the slot, it just has to be dated for that year. Coins that span multiple years without a specific date can be used for any year it was minted. Greater weight would be given for older coins. It would be hard to complete but it would be fun. Most of all, it would be completely open ended to put whatever you like into a set.

How many CBH die marriages were there? I thought it was in the 400's. Is it over 600? Or maybe that includes die states.

If I have my numbers straight, there are 450 die marriages, and 609 recognized die states, with about another 20-25 potential die states which may some day catch on and be recognized.

I'm all for creating Jefferson nickel registries that BAR FS nickels. It's ridiculous and immature that these top FS sets are allowed to be entered into every type of registry that has been created. And they do it, only to get the 5 grading freebies. Fine! Get your freebies then move on! Are we that carnal that you need to hog all the registry set catagories? If the catagory does not say FS, stay out of it unless you have non FS coins to show. Sheesh!

I'm sure this has been brought up before but I simply do not understand why some registries include "impossible" coins.

I will never own an 1817/4 CBH. Or a '39 small letters (reverse of a SLH). You can count those extant on two hands. The bearded goddess, 12/1 large 8 and '30 large letters are tough enough. Give us a fighting chance to finish the set.

I believe once a set has achieved 90% completion, 5 freebies are awarded. But I could be wrong or they may have stopped doing that.

How about an Error Type Set.

ie: Off Center, broadstruck, double struck, triple struck, die cap, off metals, brockage , clip, etc, etc, etc, etc, with maybe 200 - 500 error "types"
