Can you provide any details on the eaglet that wasn't? Was it a fake? Got any pictures? How did you know it was fake, etc...? Always trying to learn how to better spot fakes. Thanks.

Thanks for posting this. Yeah definitely doesnt look right. The suspect one is definitely thicker and slightly smaller diameter than the reeded one you compare to. There shouldn't be any noticeable difference between two real coins.

Gee, non reeded.....you have to imagine this was made to fool people in non US markets....hard to pass those off here.
Hard to believe the LCS person was not able to detect this......I woud stay far far away in the future.

The non-reeded fake seems to be a little thicker?

If you have a scale, might as well get a digital caliper too. For testing diameter and thickness. Better than eyeballing. Just sayin.

Went to the monthly show today and saw alot of scrap gold and silver being sold or traded for EAGLES
I added a 10oz J&M bar and
3 1/10 oz eagles to my pile
