. nope. nikon d90 here and the more i use it and understand its settings, the more i love it.
i do however need to upgrade the copy stand. while it is more than sufficient to do the job, it is just not built for professional level precision. (efficiency) .
The biggest advantage you will see going from the XTi to T2i/3i/4i is that they offer Live View, which when coupled with tethering on the camera will give you a huge improvement in your workflow and a significant improvement in sharpness, especially for smaller coins or varieties. The XS is the first Canon camera with Live View and EFSC, and I can attest that there is little difference in quality between an XS and a T2i. The T4i is similar, as it has the same sensor as T2i/T3i but with more "features" that are more or less useless for coin photography. Personally I'd recommend "upgrading" to an XS, but if you must go with a bigger MP camera then the T2i is the sweet spot for price vs function for coins. But you should NOT make the jump just to go from 10MP to 18MP because this happens at the expense of pixel size, so you really don't get to use those extra pixels unless you do a serious lens upgrade. The main difference I see between the XS and T2i is that on the XS I downsize by 3x while on the T2i I downsize by 4x to get a 800x800 final image. In use, the lower power processor on the XS shows a blurrier Live View image vs the T2i, but I always zoom in 100% for critical focusing, so there is practically no difference.

I shoot with a Sony a230........no macro lense, just the lense that came with the camera, I set everything to auto and use the macro setting.
