Paramount Holdered Coin inside NGC Holder?

  I have never seen one before. Do you know of one? I did not think they did that. Now, why would someone do that? Very simple...Same reason people have NGC grade GSA dollars in their original holders. Once you take the coin out of the GSA/Redfield/Paramount holder, it is no longer distinguishable from a normal one.

  I have several redfield coins in NGC holders. It is done to get an accurate grade on the coin.

  OHHHH, now I understand. Yes, I have seen that before. I thought you meant the actual holdered coin in an NGC slab. Again, as I mentioned before, it is done for the same reason people do the GSA dollars...

  Is it inside an NGC slab or did NGC just add a grade to the Paramount holder using their holographic tape?

  These are fairly common. NGC will also certify Redfield coins in their original Paramount holders. It's a way for "modern" grading of the coin without losing the provenance or destroying the holder. This also similar to what NGC does with GSA hard pack dollars. The soft pack GSA dollars are put into larger holders similar to those used for paper notes.

  never seen that before but looks cool and I like that, sometimes for provenance some people don't want it cracked out such as the GSA coins

  NGC does this with some international coins, as well. These are not NGC holders ... they are the original issuers holder with NGC tamper seals and a grading sticker (externally attached).

  If a coin in a Paramount holder or G.S.A. holder is submitted to NGC for grading, they won't remove it from that holder. If they did perform that service, they would not be inclined to attribute it by the source on an NGC capsule given their current terms of "guarantee". And I presume that everyone in this thread has read the explicit terms that NGC includes on the label affixed to Paramount holders for coins they have graded.
