Another newbie...
I've been a lurker on here for a week or so now and is it possible for one become addicted to this?
I wanted to introduce myself and kinda share my story how I recently got into the hobby a little bit. I'm 25 years old college graduate, complete with debt, with a not so awesome job so my resources are not quite impressive. This summer I somehow learned about the Presidential dollar series and thought that was a really neat program. I did a little reading and stumbled upon proof sets, and thought those were even cooler. So the first thing I set out to do was a set of the state quarters. Got my first Dansco and learned of the 90% proof so had to embark on collecting the silver proof sets as well. I burned though a set of Roosevelt dimes, and am currently working on my Jeffersons and just started my silver washingtons as well. So at this point I've pretty well burned though all my "rainy day" savings in the past few months on coins.
I've developed a pretty good relationship with my local coin shop although I know my business is not much compared to 95% of collectors. (I'm still in awe to see a customer spend 4 grand on junk silver at the store, let alone talk on her of regular actions in the 5 and 6 figure range! Amazing!) Anyways, he's the one who told me about the forums so here I am.
Here I've already learned quite a lot and have developed a desire to try and take some photographs of my coins as well. Most of you here who are brave enough to post your pictures have done an OUTSTANDING job! I thought toned coins were kind of ugly till I've seen the topics on here and they are mesmerizing. I have just a basic Canon XS and standard 18-55mm lens so don't expect much from me, but this 1932-S is the guy I started my washingtons with.
My dealer made sure I knew it was cleaned and taught me about flow lines and what cleaning does to the coin. (I think it's okay to talk monies on here right?) He sold it to me for $200. I think that's a pretty fair deal but there's a lot about collecting in general I don't know yet.
Sorry for my kinda long post here. Moral of the story is: Hi, I'm new. And thanks to all who contribute here, it has been fun reading learning from all of you. Here's to one more collector.
Thanks. (I've tried to attach pictures, if they don't work I apologize and will try to get them up if I can) [L=]

Hoard the keys.
Yes, it is terribly addictive.
Remember to have fun and don't take anything people say here too seriously. Some of the smartest folks in the hobby can be found here. Just to be clear, I'm not one of them.
