Auction eds Sunday night with last second snipe bid.
I send eBay invoice immediately.
As of Tuesday morning, buyer hasn't paid.
Buyer is a long time eBayer with tons of FB.
Won't answer emails either.
Why bid if you don't want to pay?

<< <i>I don't worry about it for at least 3 weeks. Generally they all pay and I never have to communicate with them. Lots of coin buyers remember when you ordered things by putting the order form in the envelope, put a 7c stamp on it, and waiting 4-6 weeks for return mail. --Jerry >>
3 weeks? You must be kidding.
My eBay Unpaid Item Assistant is set for 4 days.
This was an inexpensive item and there is no reason why it shouldn't have been paid for.
How I wish eBay would allow sellers to leave neg FB!
Idiots abound.
I knew it would happen.

<< <i>Don't you have to drink heavily to use eBay in the first place??? >>
That can really get you into trouble.
I think you're just looking for an excuse to drink........
Too many positive BST transactions with too many members to list.
the "field" for several weeks at a time. Line cabin to line cabin and such. Maybe this
guy is on a rig in th gulf, or such. You know that this is a great time to vacation in Hawaii.
Any such "problems" will correct themselves when he gets on the computer next.
bob
if you have the unpaid item assist on for 4 days why post here before then?
if no payment after 48 hours with no communication makes a person drink, the secret is that they are an alcoholic and use any reason do drink
well its 3:45 pm time to drink, well its 4:00 time to drink
relax buddy, you'll live longer

Are you kidding me? You would leave a negative if it took a buyer more than TWO days to pay?
That's ridiculous. For people who don't carry a significant paypal balance, and who don't have an instant transfer set up between their paypal and bank accounts, it can take 4 days to transfer money from a bank into paypal. I won't even send an email to an unpaid buyer until 5 or 6 days after the listing closed.

You are definitely impatient and not a seller I would like to deal with.
If he sniped it on Sunday (may have been set up in advance and done via a service), and you are concerned you didn't get your money for an inexpensive item after ONE (1) business day, then you have, imho, problems...and they aren't with your buyer.
Some folks travel, have things happen, etc. It can take more than a day. If you can't relax on that, then maybe ebay isn't the place for you to sell.
God help any ebay seller you may buy from that doesn't have the item in your hands 1 minute after you place your bid....you would probably neg him over that.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
When I win on eBay, I pay or request an invoice immediately.
I suppose it is asking too much for others to do the same (altho I wish they did!)
Out of my last 10 auctions 4 still have not paid. I NEVER had it this bad!!
<< <i>But 2 days? You're nuts. >>
Agree. Perhaps the thread title should be "Why e-bay buyers drink."?

<< <i>That's not a reason to drink. After a month and on-and-off email responses, okay. But 2 days? You're nuts. >>
This times a million. If a buyer taking more than 36 hours leads you to drink, you'll be drinking up all your meagre ebay profits and should probably stop selling on there!
Unpaid claim minimum time is four days now, and that gives a buyer who for some reason needs it another four days to pay.
When I first started selling on eBay the normal wait was a week to ten days to get the buyers check. Then another week or so to get it cleared then ship.

Anyone expecting (or even just asking) everybody else on eBay to do as they do, either buying or selling, is setting themselves up for disappointment.

So you know the buyer? Know their situation? Know their computer habit? "...no reason..." really?
I had a buyer once who turned out to be dead.

Reading through this means I've wasted another precious minute of my life.

I think it very unlikely the buyer died immediately after bidding on my item!
Everyone should just calm down and get off my back - I was just venting in my OP.

Take away...US coin forum usually turns out to be a rough place for those who just want to vent...
<< <i>And todays Tuesday, two days? You're kidding, right ? >>
Keep on beating that dead horse!

2 things:
* You should learn what sniping really is (ie....one doesn't need to be at the computer as it can be automated and could be set well in advance....I've done that and been traveling on an overseas flight when I've won....and not been able to pay for a couple of days due to circumstances.....and if that means someone doesn't want my bid/money, so be it)
* Maybe you should learn what is really acceptable to vent about before having a tantrum that someone didn't do what you wanted, how you wanted, and when you wanted........just a suggestion to make your forum experiences a bit more pleasant
(but, thank you for telling us what to do....to make YOUR life better since it is all about YOU

Yes, you certainly make visiting the forum a pleasant experience with your snide remarks!
I sorry I'm not perfect like you apparently think you are.
<< <i>Well I may have to go pop a top on a Sam Adams I just found out my auction winner on Sundays auction is a Aussie. I thought I had them blocked from bidding and now PayPal won't let him pay and get it sent to a friend here in the US.
Make it a Fosters...Mate.
Inexpensive item, too. Chill

3 weeks would be a bit much for me, but 2 weeks would cause me to start worrying.
Practice makes perfect & nobody is perfect. So, practice being nobody and be perfect !
The tide has turned and now as a seller you've really turned into a dealer. As such you were supposed to follow all the e-bay rules, which allows the buyer 7 days to pay.

Yea, I wouldn't get soo worked up. Give it some time... $hit happens! And if he doesn't pay what does it matter? You have lost anything, just re-list!
In my experience, if payment goes longer than 7-10 business days, the reason invariably boils down to one of these four reasons, in decreasing order of likelihood:
a) Buyer's remorse. (Far and away the #1 reason)
b) Buyer can't afford item for whatever reason and can't acknowledge same.
c) Sport bidder who never intended to buy item.
d) Someone else bid on item without bidder's knowledge.
That said, I've found that there is a direct correlation between inexpensive items and the number of sport bidders and NPBs. The rates of non payers in low dollar non-numismatic items on Ebay are staggering.

Maybe he doesn't even know he won yet, or maybe this is one of many auctions he's working through.
Or maybe he's overextended by winning more than he expected, and is going to have to "ration" paying.
Either way, he should contact you soon, or you'll be filing NPB (it happens occasionally, goes with the territory)
best of luck
