I had a package sent from germany on Nov. 30 & it was handed over to " International Logistics Center Frankfurt on Nov 2, 2012". according to the Germany post office site.
I put the tracking # from germany into the our U.S. post office website with the info below:
Origin Post is Preparing Shipment
Registered Mail™
Processed Through Sort Facility
November 02, 2012, 12:15 am
FRANKFURT AM MAIN, GERMANY
Acceptance
October 31, 2012, 5:46 pm
GERMANY
My problem is it's been 1 month now since that tracking was updated & the seller refuses to answer emails. Another dealer I talked to from germany said to file an investigation report on the german post office site, which I did but so far nothing again.
Would it do me any good to goto my local post office regarding this? Is there anything they can do or will they just say the same thing that the website says regarding the tracking?
It's just one $50 valued coin. The orginial seller usually declares it on customs as "numismatic token" & I have gotten them before with no problem, this is a first.
Any help woud be appreciated.

<< <i>Did you pay for air shipping? If it is coming on a boat 1 month is nothing. Also, Deutsche Post is DHL so maybe try there for tracking. >>
I'm not sure about your "boat" reference. All letters and small packages are send via Airmail. I've had a similar situation several years ago, except the seller responded to emails, and it never showed up in the US. Seller initiated the Postal search in Germany, but to no avail and I was subsequently refunded the purchase price for about the same amount as yours. It was a silver bar though.
So there is no point going to my local post office then to see if they can do something or investigate it?
Sorry, couldn't refuse the levity. Hope your package arrives soon.
<< <i>Perhaps you shouldn't have used those WWII "Hitler Head" stamps on the package.

That's not funny, and it is actually fairly rude.

I agree. Some people here don't really appreciate Hitler jokes. In fact, I'd hope most don't.
I would file the claim and if by chance it does show up repay the sender when it arrives.
BTW I also would not find fault with the sender as it seems he did his part the carrier is the problem.
<< <i>Could be delayed getting though customs or could of been lost in the damage to the routing hubs in the New York area because of Sandy.

I would definitely resend payment in it arrives but so far it isnt looking like it will come.
Only thing thats the fault of the sender is not replying to messages.

Perhaps we should find all the old "Hogans Hero's" tapes and have them destroyed.
