I don't collect this series by date, but I know hard that coin is to find. I think only the 1809 is tougher among the Classic Head cents. The best one I've ever had was a piece in Fair-2 that I bought from my mother's cleaning lady when I was a kid.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Actually the 1811/O would be the hardest and is the real key date to the series.
Barndog's coin is very nice, I would love to have it.

Very nice, Richard. Heck, that is nice looking for ANY classic head, but particularly so for this date. Looks to be the same die state as mine, but the color and surfaces on yours are definitely superior.
I took that photo before cracking the slab. I did save the label. PCGS graded it VF30. It is perfect for my set...goal is nineteen coins in the VF range

Exactly what I thought. Wonderful coin!
That set is going to take some patience, but on the bright side, you've got a fabulous example of one of the toughest of the 19.

Nice one. The 1811 is really tough. Of the Classic heads, only the 1809, and 1811/10 are more difficult to find in VF and better grades. I would love to find an 1811/10 with that look.
I got this one from Heritage's 9/11 sale of the Al Boka collection, it resides in a PCGS XF45 holder:

In my opinion, it takes unbelievable patience and opportunity to assemble such a set of VF classic head cents with nice color and surfaces. Certainly not something that can be acquired in a year or two.

If I collected these in grades above VF, I would keep them in the holder too.
