    Wow. Makes you wonder who put it there and how the gold was originally found.

    In that form, I would say it was panned. I have panned for gold in that area, and if a dedicated effort is made (and one understands what one is doing), there is still a lot of gold in the streams. Glory holes, fresh heavy rains etc. all provide opportunities. Cheers, RickO
