Need help with the grade of these Morgans

Where is the "Rub" on these two coins?

What should the grades be?

Please explain what is coin "Rub". I thought I knew, but I must not fully understand.

look just to the left of the face, in the open field, see the whitish scratches there, that is mild circulation as far as I understand it

Meybe the reverse die polish kept the 78-CC from a DMPL, but it should be DMPL. My DMPL is from the same die pair and is very deep. Mine is a 60DMPL, OGH. Wonder if it would go higher or lower. Can post a comparison pic if you like.

First of all, sometimes a little bit of friction and a little bit of scruff can be interpreted as "circulated", whereas other times it will be given an "uncirculated" grade. Hence part of the allure of the AU58 grade.

I have had AU58's grade from 55 (weak 58's to start with) to 63 (strong 58's). I have never pulled a 64 out of a 58, yet, but know it has been done. Mostly I have hit 62's on the ones I thought were truely "one up" coins.

It goes the other way too on a lot of coins. I have seen a fair share of 62's and even 63's that are probably 58's on another day.
