I don't know about best but I know how most people do it. They buy coins because they are "hot"
and then they sell them when they aren't hot in order to buy the latest "hot" coins. Rinse, lather,
    repeat until you've had enough.

Most people doing this are trying to make a fortune in coins rather than a great coin collection.

Unless one is an expert authenticator, it's dangerous to buy raw gold coins from a non-expert source such as eBay or a flea market. I am glad to hear that you are an expert authenticator.
