    That is the reverse of those Swiss of America bars in that row there. Just to the right is 2 old poor bars. One is stamped WGB 2.57 and the one just above it is stamp 2.43 on the underside effectively making a total of 5 ounces with the 2 bars.

    I'm not familiar with that coin? Is it a coin or bullion round and who produced it. A scan of the reverse would be helpful.

    It should be a coin since it is minted by the RCM and has a face value of 8 CAD. The reverse shows the Queen, is the same design/font of the Maple Leaf.
    Not clear why the RCM distributes them only through Lear Capital.

    Couldn't find more details, I think because the first deliveries are happening these days.

    For what I read the premium over melt is really high.

    I hadn't seen nor heard anything about those $8 1.5oz Canadian silver coins either until this thread.

    Thanks for that link. The Royal Canadian Mint sure is using some very strange business tactics lately. No mention of this coin at all anywhere that I can find. On that website it says "EXCLUSIVELY SOLD IN THE USA BY LEAR CAPITAL"

    In regards to the Polar Bears..................I came across them by accident while searching the web for Polar Bear coins a few weeks ago. Since I collect polar bears, I purchased a roll. I was told that the max mintage is 500,000. They are only available in the USA through Lear. Some collectors in Canada have tried to get them but Lear will not ship to Canada from what I heard. I find the design very attractive.

    It is interesting that they have shown up no where else. I figured someone else would have purchased some by now and thrown up on ebay. I paid about $68 per coin, but since silver is down a bit it might be a few dollars less right now. The premium is high, but when I look at the canada silver wildlife series, all of them have a mintage of 1,000,000 and the wolf is selling for $60-$75 an ounce. The Polar Bear, with a more limited mintage(if really 500,000), better design than any of the coins in the wildlife series(in my opinion), and very odd distribution of the coins makes it a winner to me. And even if it turns out not to be, it still works for my polar bear collection.

    Hopefully that helps those of you who are interested.
