...just one (!)...who frequents this forum, from whom you would like to own a coin from his/her collection. Who knows, a thread like this could make it happen. image

If I narrow it down to those I have never acquired a piece from, pretty easy. MJ (justacommeman ) .

There are others that I either, A.) own one of theirs already, B.) don't frequent the forum anymore.

I would say MJ too, but his collection is above my pay grade.

  • Hmmmmm,

I already purchased from LindeDad, AU and AG, and Coinman1889.

If I had to choose someone I havent purchased from... Either LancenewmanOCC, Bajjerfan, or Bestclser1. But I dont know if they have anything that will fit in my set.

But I will need to talk to some Mercury Collectors soon. I will be expanding my Everyman set to Mercury Dimes in the next month for my wife.

  • Well since you said just one I will have to bypass and not select the typical people who have amazing collections in my niche like Keoj, TDN, OriginalDan, DDR, Shish, EvillageProwler, TennDave, 123cents, Kaz.

The second tier of collectors have collections that I could never afford like Cardinal(everything), Breakdown(walkers) or MFH (barbers) so I can't mention them.

There is the tertiary group that I respect their focus and style and admire many of their public coin such as RYK (1884cc DE OGH), BloodMan(His PL DEs must be a sight to behold), Justacommeman(the look and eye appeal of his set requires a patience/discipline I don't posses), Lakesammman has one of the coolest coins I have ever seen posted on the forum (Old Mormon Gold in Doily) and last but not least I love the BluCC hoard of DMPLs

If I had to really chose one I would beg Lakesammman but I would welcome the chance to do business with any of the people I have listed.

+1. Specifically for his 1795 MS62 S/D $5. They're not horribly rare but hard to find and he just happened to find a wonderful example!

There are many and I can't exactly narrow it down to one.

But I'll just throw out Cardinal even though there are a few others I have in mind whose collections I'd be just as happy to look at it.

Me too! Where is that beautiful quarter with the peripheral blue patina that I have been teased sadistically with?
  • I take my answer back, There is one coin I want more than any other in the world and would pay just about any amount I could afford. The coin in question belongs to TDN and is a lowly AU55 Chop Mark of a common date coin Please TDN name your price
  • pursuitoflibertypursuitofliberty Posts: 7,282 ✭✭✭✭✭
TDN has the one coin I would want (probably above anything else - and no it isn't a dollar either) ... however, his price wouldn't be one I could muster ... at least not this year! image

He was kind enough to send me big pictures of her though! image

There are a few other names thrown in this thread, where I have seen a few of their coins and know enough of what they collect, for which, if money was no object, I would not hesitate

Pruebas has one he bought at the Millennia sale that I'd love to take off his hands. Unfortunately, he's younger than me, so I may have to kill him first.

MrEureka, and WonderCoin. There are a lot specific coins I'd like to own in collections like DHeath's and
    Keets'.

although, I have to admit, it would look better in DrPete's
    collection.

Has anyone else noticed how minty fresh Bigmoose's breath is? Which is quite the misnomer all things considered.

BigMoose, Nic, Mike Stefano, David Schweitz would all be high on my list in addition to the all star line up already mentioned here.

There are others but I already bought coins from their collections. They did not give me permission (yet) to disclose their user names.
