A New Pretty Little Lincoln for my collection

ThePennyLadyThePennyLady Posts: 4,495 ✭✭✭✭✭
Just added this colorful Lincoln to my personal collection - it's not a tough date or anything super special, rather, I think it's just simply very pretty, don't you?

Always a pleasure viewing Lincolns in lesser grade than MS65 that do not have carbon.
    Pretty coin, for sure!

Quite honestly, I think the 31-d is a tougher date in high grade than the 31-s, which was saved extensively.

  • My favorite date and mint mark. The first "valuable" coin I found in my piggybank as a kid was a 1931-D Lincoln. It's nothing like this one, of course. Sweet! image

    Awesome! Nice coin.

Not tough? Shoot...it's one of the toughest later wheaties of all.

Absolutely! This is borne out by the TPGs pop reports. I haven't looked at them lately but I remember a few years ago there were roughly 5x the amount of mint state 31s Lincolns than 31d.

I've owned a lot of 31-d's that came "richly toned" and were some of the favorite coins in my collection at the time. I think that is a wonderful date.

Drinking and coin buying often don't mix well, but you can usually bet on a pretty coin!

Ahhh, but when BOTH sides are having a little wine, it seems to soften the negotiations and bring smiles to everyone! image

    Great look! Congratulations!

Mine is raw, only an AU 50....I bet my '32-D (best coin in an original roll I bought years ago) would give yours a run for its money though. image
