Gold and Silver test kit??

I'm new to this hobby, but was really encouraged today. Found a 3.28 oz. melted lump under an old burned house that I believe is silver! Two detectors are signaling quarter and half dollar with a little bit of copper.

Can anyone recommend a test kit? Or a process to test?

Hey Bob, welcome to metal detecting!

On ebay you can buy a silver test kit for around $5. Might be worth a pickup. Keep us posted on its status. Could just be a melted pipe or can, so I got my fingers crossed!

I took it by a local pawn shop and they tested it for me. It is silver! He offered me 71.50 for it because it would cost him $35 to have it assayed. Of course I kept it!

Update: I have gone back twice. Found the first three ounces under where a bed had sat. Got to digging under the kitchen counter area, and I am up to 26 t oz of melted silver now! I have ordered a silver test kit to confirm this, but each lump shows silver on the metal detector. I am stoked!

I have a great deal left to search, too, but boy, will I search it!!
