Teletrade - crazy toned Morgan, crazy price?

I was watching this one last night, looks like it went for a decent price, even the ANACS holder didn't stop it:
1883-O Crazy toned Morgan
Did anyone here get it?

Not me and I sure hope not anyone on this forum. They had several ANACS slabed
toned Morgans on their Sunday's auction. Watched most of them head toward the
moon and kind of wondered.
Couple that with the ANACS holder and the MS63 grade and a lackluster reverse and I think the new owner is buried.

<< <i>yuck? >>
That sums it up perfectly, that buyer is beyond buried untill silver hits $1000 an ounce.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
<< <i>Common date, average grade, and doctored. Not a good combination. >>
Doctored?????????????? educate me, please.

I was out at $500, not surprised where it ended up.
There's a saying "Great coins aren't cheap", that's a sweet toner and very appealing.

the 1960's, 70's, 80's, and most of the 90's. Just my opinion.
83, 84 and 85O's were everywhere. It's believed that about 10 million of these were released in 1962.
Keep it simple a million 83O's is 1000 bags, bound to be some toners in those canvas bags.
Just imagine going through 1000 bags of 83O's, bet you would find many Monster toners.
<< <i>I view the coin as AT. I've collected coins since the late 60's and can't recall seeing any rainbow toned Morgans such as this example throughout
the 1960's, 70's, 80's, and most of the 90's. Just my opinion. >>
You just were not in the right place at the right time IMO. You probaly saw the results of the dipped coins after the bags were opened, now that's doctoring if you must know.

It seems undergraded as a 63. Obv looks 63++ to me, reverse 63.
The fact that it was sold in this holder suggests something was terribly wrong. Either the owner didn't know what they had and was willing to leave money on the table, OR
it was really doctored and they knew what they had.
<< <i>Looked like an NT monster to me. The holder makes no difference, only that someone judged the color to be real and A or A+. The coin could go MS64 at PCGS/NGC.

Seems that there was a little group of these sent to ANACS and graded in the yellow holders......maybe a collector submission to ANACS at a small show (ANACS sets up and takes submissions at a fair number of small shows). The ones I have seen seem to be graded accurately to conservatively. I had two 83-O Dollars, and one graded the same at PCGS and another graded a point higher.

<< <i>I was the underbidder, and its definitely NT.Nothing else to say on the coin other than i think its a monster. I also found out after the fact who outbid me.There have been at least 20 really nice to monster coins that have come off teletrade in the last 6-8 months that i believe came out of the same collection, would have loved to have seen the whole collection intact! >>
Someone outbid you??????????????Say its not sooooooooooo
