I usually receive my order in about 3 days, even if it's mailed from Hawaii & I'm in MD. Your buyer should have had the item no later than Sat. Suggest you review the tracking, sometimes the mail is misrouted.

BTW I won a auction on Monday that was shipped on Tuesday via Registered mail from Mass. that I got out here in Wash. on Friday. So just maybe he is not being that out of line considering that maybe he has to go to work in the morning and won't have to much time for coins during the week.

Should be there really soon, I would think. The buyer is in Virginia.
<< <i>It happens......just roll with it...getting upset will only raise your blood pressure >>
Nah. No rise in blood pressure here. I get a lot worse from my work. Just thought it was kind of funny, is all. Heck, I specify a 5-day handling time anyway. I can understand the fella being a bit eager, but methinks he jumped the gun just a little bit, and I didn't care for the tone of his message. You'd think it had been three weeks or somethin', haha.
BTW, this is a cheapo item that sold for less than eight bucks. Sent regular First Class (for free). Not insured or Registered or anything.
I agree the buyer was too quick to question. While mail may get there faster on many occasions, that doesn't always hold true. Be patient and avoid the trouble and worry.
<< <i>I hope you have the right zip code written on there. >>
I didn't write anything. Used the eBay/PayPal shipping label, with the address the buyer himself provided.
I'm just a hair north of the Florida line, here. We're considered part of the USPS "North Florida" district. I noticed all the clerk's badges said that now, and asked about it.
So all our mail goes south to the Sunshine State before it goes elsewhere. I would have thought it would go to JAX, though.
I'd like to say that first class can take upwards of half a month. It happened to me recently when I sent a coin out first-class. I thought the package was lost, but low and behold it turned up and was delivered. Just a FYI.
Oddly, I've seen cross-country packages take two or three days while ones in the same batch that are addressed to a neighboring state take a week or more. Guess you never can tell.
<< <i>Oddly, I've seen cross-country packages take two or three days while ones in the same batch that are addressed to a neighboring state take a week or more. Guess you never can tell. >>
This is very true...I usually get packages from coast to coast via priority mail in 2 days while packages a couple states over will often take a week. I'm thinking it might have something to do with the air travel from point A to point B.

Lord M i have purchased from you before with no problem at all. Somewhat of a similar starting experience. There is somebody in the world forum whom i have offered to purchase his coin for sale way above his asking price as there was a competing offer. My mistake was to pay via paypal gift and trusting this seller to deliver the coin. The coin did not arrive at the specified date as per tracking via USPS. The seller told me to relax as it happens to him all the time when he makes purchases abroad and it usually takes 15days to get to him. I told him that i am not abroad. But he still did not follow up until it was too late.
Fast forward now he submitted an inquiry to the USPS customer service and they said they will elevate this to the USPS Inspector generals office as the last message in the tracking just states that it left their sorting facility. Then nothing...Its been almost 2 months now and still no coin.
Oh by the way the USPS customer service person mentioned that due to the time that has elapsed they would be hard pressed to find this mail if ever. Buyer also states that he is NOT responsible once he dropped the package in the mail. He also stated that i should have paid more for insurance as others in the past have asked him to do so. Now that the post office has apologized for losing his mail to me... he is passing the buck on the USPS as the party responsible for the loss. He got paid ...the USPS got paid and I got S....w..d.

That bites!! I ALWAYS find out how the item is going to be shipped and insured before i make payment. I will not use paypal gift, i would rather pay 3 percent. To those that insist on paypal gift, that iss my first point of dealing with a less than honest person. I am not a fan of paypal but.... I seem to find to many of those .0001 that fail to do the right thing. Hope it works out for you. BTW i believe the seller needs to be on the hook until the product lands on the front porch.

ebay and paypal have have empowered the buyers to decide how much shipping is "reasonable" and what a "reasonable" shipping time should be. the seller has little control over how the post office operates, and anything other than free is too much
regardless of how many posts I have, I don't consider myself an "expert" at anything

Not coin or USPS related, but I recently ordered a replacement cell phone at 10pm on a Monday night, and it arrived Tuesday morning via Fed Ex before noon. Made it from Tennessee or Kentucky to my house in metro Detroit in roughly 12 hours.
I have been thinking with these threads recently - it might be time for a quick scan or photo of the package & labl/address etc. for outgoing eBay purchases. Just an idea.
I sent a package on 8/28 from Vegas to Maine. Canadian buyer with a Maine address (a friends house).
Printed the label with Ebay shipping to a confirmed address in Maine.
Package is on it's way back to me today as it had the wrong street number on it! Yes, the confirmed address was wrong! That's a first for me. Buyer is not happy to have to repay shipping as it was $25.
But, if he wants the stuff it's his cost, not mine. This could be a real mess. I wish it was a common coin like the Lord's.

If a buyer can't keep his own "confirmed" address up to date in eBay's system, I fail to see how it's any responsibility of yours. He may not be happy at having to repay shipping, but it's his own fault, surely.
Not that this will stop him from complaining.
I had a drunk guy at the hotel cuss me out at 1:30 AM last Saturday night and DEMAND another room. Said I WAS going to find him another room. (I wasn't, because we were sold out.) Come to find out the reason he didn't like his room was because the drunken female he had in the room with him (whom he claimed not to even know in versions #1 and #2 of his sordid tale) had thrown up all over the bathroom floor. In version #1 of the tale, it was mildew on the bathroom floor. Only with version #3 of the story, and my security officer involved, did it become vomit.

Not the USPS fault, the seller/shipper wrote the wrong ZIP code on the package.
It had USPS Delivery Confirmation and I was watching it move between various USPS facilities.
It may have helped when I went to my local post office and gave them the confirmation number and my address.
The clerk said that she would send a note to the facility holding the package.
By the way, here is what was in the package:
The Mysterious Egyptian Magic Coin
Coins in Movies
Coins on Television
Lord M,
I am planning on purchasing one of the items you have listed on ebay. The auction ends tomorrow.
I live in Maine.
Why hasn't it arrived yet?
I don't have any eBay items ending tomorrow.
But if I did, I would use my special H.G. Wells Time Machine delivery system, just fer you.
