I found a pretty cool ingot today!

MeltdownMeltdown Posts: 9,255 ✭✭✭✭✭
I stopped by a little out of my way shop today and asked the owner for any odd size or weight pieces.
He pulled this out and I saw the 5.71 and was intrigued... turned it over and saw the San Francisco stamp and couldn't believe my luck.

Very nice score! What did you have to give for it? I've seen them go on Ebay with hefty premiums...

It's all about what the people want...

I paid a small premium, but nothing outrageous.
I think they bring close to $100 per oz.

Interesting links. Those are clearly very similar, but the edges on mine are not striped nearly as bad. I think I see those "pour lines" on one edge but they're much fainter. The other edge is more bubbled but smooth.

if you call Brad or Blaine at Cybercoins, they could tell you what they know about these kinds of ingots. You have one eagle stamp or two?

    You suck!
It looks like a single pour from the 30's - 40's.
The eagle stamp on later dates is distinctly different.
I'll give you $100/oz right now.

A well earned, unambiguous "You suck"

umm, did you check with OPA first before just handing out any ol You Suck award? He is very particular about the criteria image

    NICE score Meltdown, and...YOU SUCK!

Your remarks are unwarranted...I did not make the rules and you know what they are. Sour grapes in having yours removed, will not alter that fact. So live with it and get on with your life.

Quote from MadMarty, one of the founders of the "you suck award" ... "The you suck award was kinda started by Russ, DHeath and myself many many years ago. It was a term of great respect. Like when Russ picked a $8 proof set and made a Accent Hair Kennedy in PR68DCAM (a $10,000 coin). That started us telling each other you suck!!! There are only a handfull of true you suck awards given out. We stopped doing it a bunch of years ago, when people started buying coins and flipping them for double then asking if they get a you suck!!!"

    Thread about the award

Meltdown....great score & mark it up as a win.

Very neat bar. Anyone know what these are worth?
