ModCrewman's 2,000th Post Giveaway - ** Grades in ** - 1tommy is the winner again!

ModCrewmanModCrewman Posts: 4,054 ✭✭✭✭✭
UPDATE - August 29, 2012 - 5:15 PM CST

Well my grades are in...turned out to be a painful submission, not only in terms of the wait for grades, but in attaining my sought after grades. Apparently it pays to be pessimistic as 1tommy is the winner of my giveaway with guesses of 26, 6 & 11 and was the nearest to the actual totals below. That dude also won my 1,000th post giveaway...one lucky fellow for certain.

The results of the 3 questions are:
1. How many CAMs/DCAMs in the 50 coins (they were all proof/SMS coins)? - 25
2. Tiebreaker #1- How many of the 11 SMS Lincolns will receive a CAM designation? - 0
3. Tiebreaker #2 - How many 68 CAM's in the submission? - 3

His prize is a coin from this submission...I was hoping to have more duplicate CAM's showing up to choose from, but will award him a PR66 CAM 1961 Franklin. Congratulations!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This post passes another milestone for me as this is my 2,000th post. It's been so darn much fun that I figure I should sponsor another giveaway. I haven't given much thought to what my giveaway will be, but it will be PCGS CAM/DCAM coin out of the modern submission I currently have in at PCGS. I will name the giveaway coin prior to posting the submission results.

Here's what you need to do.

My modern submission of 50 coins currently in at PCGS was received on 8/9 and the current turnaround time is shown at 7 days, ie. grades on approximately Friday or Monday. Of those 50 coins there were 11 SMS Lincolns. Answer the following:

1. How many CAMs/DCAMs in the 50 coins (they were all proof/SMS coins)? (Edit - Combined total, not number of each)
2. Tiebreaker #1- How many of the 11 SMS Lincolns will receive a CAM designation?
3. Tiebreaker #2 - How many 68 CAM's in the submission?

Deadline for entry is whenever I notice that my grades have posted...take note it will be approximately 2-3 minutes after they post, as I am a compulsive refresher as my grades get closer. image One entry per participant, closest guess wins.

I see not a lot of math wizards in this contest.

Several people with guesses of 45-50 in number one, and then saying fewer than 6 of my SMS coins will make CAM on question 2...doesn't quite work out. imageimage

Some pretty good guesses so far...and some that don't show a lot of faith in my ability to identify CAM/DCAM coins for submission. Oh well...guess we'll find out who's right in a couple of days.

I am pretty certain there is nothing in the world that makes me more impatient than to have a submission pending at PCGS.

Today is the 10th business day on my submission, which is the current turnaround time listed for moderns. If you want to get in on my giveaway, better post your selections soon.

    1. I'd say 50. All 50.
    2. I'd say 11. All 11.
    3. I'd say 3. Just 3.
Let's try not to get upset.

Today is the 10th business day on my submission

despite what is stated about turn-around times, 10 days is not long at all to wait. as recently as five years ago it was closer to 30 business days and that was considered an improvement. just be patient and don't worry.
