  I've long admired the 1794, Head of '94 cents in high grade. The humble cent never looked better. Despite the low face value, they are truly special. It's why I sprung for this one, despite the fact that I had a 1795 cent that is really better so far as condition goes.

  Well, since you DID say "penny" in the title, here are two from my daughter's 1901 Victorian (British Empire) type set.
  
  Great Britain, bronze large penny, NGC MS63 RB
  
  
  Great Britain, silver Maundy penny, NGC MS63 (the apparent haze is a reflection from the holder).
  
  
  And, if it's to be a CENT, I have some of those in the set, too.
  
  Canada large cent, PCGS MS64 RB
