Coin Collectors: If You woke up tomorrow and ALL Morgans had completely vanished. . .

Would you be sad or ecstatic?
Would you dump the hobby or, without blinking an eye, be relieved you never have to see another again?

If silver ever gets to 500 bucks an ounce like some think, you will see just that, and I will be happy selling 'almost' every one of them.
<< <i>Just as long as all the blast white ones were gone and the toned ones were left........fine by me
Now I'm goin home! Ooops..........I am home!

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

With Mat on this one.
<< <i>I'd file an insurance claim. Then maybe I'd collect Swiss Shooting Thalers (obscure inside VAM guy joke). >>
Insurance for me then on to cameo proofs.

Same here after I was pissed, mad and then sad................................
1) 1880 CC, 1881 CC (2), 1885 CC, 1886 S, 1903 S, (higher tier , REG fee: $30 for coins valued over $300)
2) 1881 O, 1881 S, 1884 O, 1891 S, 1901 O, 1901 S, 1904, (economy fee: $18 for coins valued under $300)
3) 1884 S, (Secure Plus $50, for coins that need a badge, maybe a sticker, value at $1000 + )
If they completely vanished, I'd be collecting from the USPS, and be disappointed in "the system".
The only other order in the submission was a statehood modern quarter weighing in at 3.1 grams that has no cupro nickel attached to what appears to be a pure copper core, without porosity or signs of chemical use, in my opinion. (that cost $50 for "mint error" and what is the value ? )
In the meantime, if I wake up tomorrow... I'll be thankful, like today... Mostly that there are experts to oversee the coins that matter to me.

<< <i>I would think the Chinese would keep 'em coming.
Wow I never thought of that but your right
Overall I would be concerned. Former Morgan collectors might start buying obscure low pop 19th Century gold.

Morgan toners and DMPLs would be missed for sure.
I'm sure lower-priced century-old MS dollars would be missed by many as well.
<< <i>I can't hold out... some of the coins in my next submission:

I just bought an 1884-S. Can you post a picture of the one you're submitting?

They are a very large working horse. Everyone knows that
I'd lose a couple rolls.
I'd immediately sell all my coins. Why are coins suddenly "vanishing"???

This. I have an 1884 CC in PC 6 which was cracked out from when I got it from the GSA Sale of 1980. The only reason I have it is because it is part of my 19th - Early 20th Century Type Set. I'm not going to rag on anyone who collects Morgan $s, but the fact of the matter, is that the design does nothing for me. I'll take Seated, Capped Bust or Draped Bust coinage over the Morgan $ any day.
I'll go one further, and possibly insult most everyone reading this thread. I'll take my attractive 05 O Barber Half (it's in a PC 5 holder; there are attractive Barber Halves, but you have to look for quite awhile to find one) over any Morgan out there.
