Although I wonder if you did that for awhile, would you get jaded about all but the most extraordinary coins.

<< <i>Kagin's office is in the center of Tiburon and Tiburon is a cute town in a drop-dead gorgeous setting but living there is obscenely expensive even by Bay Area standards.

To further prove Wei's point, I'm spending the weekend in Tiburon to celebrate our anniversary with my wife. Pretty little town but not the type of place one can easily afford to live. Might be do-able if you're willing to commute though.
A knowledge of gold bars might be useful. Just saying.........................

<< <i>That would be a cool job, they get a lot of neat stuff moving through there.

I'm not sure there's anything wrong with becoming jaded about all but the most extraordinary coins, at least for major dollar expenditures. You can always have side collections many of us have for when the main collections aren't seeing much activity.
<< <i>Is it practical to do a daily commute from SF to Tiburon? >>
Yes, by ferry, but only if you can get a 12-8 work schedule.

I agree, and the pay sucks. Let's hope it's better at Kagin's.

<< <i>Is it practical to do a daily commute from SF to Tiburon? >>
Yes, by car you just go right over the Golden Gate Bridge.
It is a counter commute as most traffic is going the other way.
Oh course, you would have to add the $6 per day bridge toll and parking in Tiburon if not provided.
The ferry is a great way as mentioned.
Best.

first thing i did. i was wondering if it was close to santa barbara but it is a little further north than i thought.
like that it is close to the water, not that it would be warm enough to take a dip in most of the time

Not exactly sure. But one of the duties might be checking local garage sales for large gold bars.

This. Except I'd add look around expensive neighborhoods for large gold bars as well as one of the possible job assignments.
