1870 SLQ.......Finally got a coin in my collection with a <100,000 biz strike mintage!
A nice circulated piece with good dirt with a reported mintage of only 86,400. Gonna look good in the crusty section of my circ Bust and Seated Collection. Sorry for the camera glare in the pics.
GTG if you like.

...apparently I don't have an image in my photobucket account...I'll have to get back to you. Regardless, very nice!
congrats on breaking that milestone too with something other then a 31-s lincoln...
Really nice Seated quarter!
Seated coins rock!!!
Here's my latest pickup before the 1870. Seems like both have the same polished out area of the left side of the scroll on the Reverse. Must have been the first thing to get polished off. I know this one (the 1873) used Proof dies for the reverse.

I would guess the first one is a 25 or 30...leaning toward 30, the second is a 40, possibly knocked down to a 35 for a dip.

<< <i>This one has a nice original look. Where's the "cc" mintmark?
It somehow got misplaced. I've been looking for it everywhere!!!
Thanks for the comments. Here's the assigned grade, Moldnut's twin.........

XF-AU cleaned/bruised/battered. Hard to find these with just good old wear. In the 10 yr Philly run I'd probably put in in the bottom half with 63, 64, 65, and 73 NA. Even though
the mintages of the 1871 and 1872 are considerably higher than the 1870, they seem to be scarcer...but usually not as battered as the 1870's tend to be. Maybe collectors figured
that since the mintages from 1866-1869 were so low that they'd hoard the 1870's as well. Then the mint went and tripled/quintupled up on the mintage of those preceding years.
I would have been torn between VF30 and VF35. Looks closer to a 35 imo.

<< <i>Nice coin, thought I saw it on the BST - too late. Oh well, can't buy em' all can you? That's one date I'm missing. Maybe I'll hold ut for the cc.

Funny, I will be selling a 1870 duplicate I upgraded and purchased a 70 cc at FUN, the cc will add few zeros to that check.
