Edited- STOLEN Herd of Six Buffalos via USPS Express Mail

I received a phone call from our local Post Master informing me that my package arrived in Memphis Tenn. on the 10th. She stated that the package had been opened and a USPS employee re-packaged it and sent it on its way to CAC. Hope was in the air. Just a screw up, no problem. When it finally arrived three days later at the P.O. in Far Hills a CAC representative went to the P.O. to open the package with someone from the P.O. When they opened the package this is the E-Mail I just received from the Far Hills Post Master. The original envelope with the label on it contained. 1.) The paperwork for CAC. 2.) A check for $60. 3.) Half of the inner envelope. Nothing else. These coins were put inside a flattened out priority mail small flat rate box along with the check and paperwork. This was taped completely and put inside an express mail envelope. Then it was put inside another express mail envelope to be mailed. To me It looks like the package was opened the coins were taken out and then re-routed by someone at the P.O. Why else would it take a different route than it was suppose to? Supposedly it left the sorting facility in San Bernardino, CA. on its way to CAC. I guess every thing goes Priority from now on no matter how long it takes. Nice coins
Empty Nest Collection
nice Buffalo's !!!
If the thief cracks and dips them nobody will ever know they were yours
Was your package Registered?
Has anyone ever had coins lost that were Registered?
They way it works as I understand with Registered......is that every time the package changes hands it is signed for. So they should know who took the package.
I really hate to mail coins!!!!
That herd of STOLEN Buffalos sure was a nice looking one
Lafayette Grading Set
It is still $10. I have a credit on my account which has been on there for a few years. It would have covered the shipping.
<< <i>CAC raised prices to 12 dollars per coin and it looks like you forgot to pay for return shipping!
To dealers, not yet to collectors I believe
Also, I agree that this sucks that it happened
One of my fears in using the EM envelope with coins, even when packaged in multiple layers like that.
I like the express mail boxes instead. Costs more, but I feel safer.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
<< <i>lame. I hope they find it tucked away somewhere. >>
