I generally like your taste Lloyd, but that Walker looks like it's got too much of that reddish brown- strike looks soft and I'm hoping the luster isn't muted.

The picture must not do it justice. It looks so-so from where I'm sitting.

I bet it looks better in hand. Strike is no worse than most later date S-mint coins.

The picture looks flat. I can imagine much of that brown pops into some color in hand?

i think it may be undergraded. that camouflage toning is probably holding it back.

there is a pattern on some high-grade monsters i've noticed and it is scarce.

the toning on the reverse from 3-6 is a brown flaky type and a little on the obverse.

i've seen that toning on some 67-68 morgans, peace, comemms, mercs and a few other series

since your coin isn't imaged properly it probably won't get the attention it deserves

Interesting, when I seen this coin on hold I figured it might have went to you. Sure enough. I don't take images as absolutes like many folks do.
I can get a bit of a feel for how it may look. That said, I'm not seeing "Moose" on this one, as I don't on a lot that I see described as such. Glad you like it. image Enjoy!

no insult to the photographer was intended. just stating a coin like this is difficult to image properly to show how high quality it is

While I like that kind of toning I also know there are many who won't like it. That same toning on a seated half would probably
be construed as average/neutral to maybe even slightly negative because of the bifurcation/mottling of the toning. But it probably
does show better in person. Is one quarter of the toning (brown/silver mottling) from a fingerprint? I'd probably love the coin too.
But I've learned over the past few years of stickers and plusses that it no longer matters what I think.

  • If Todd shoots it, please post the pics. I have a feeling that the coin is better than those photos illustrate.
