I don't collect them, but I do have one. A person at my local coin club saw a grouping of fake Buffernicks on fleaBay and bought them for a song. He then gave each member of the club one of the bogus coins.
Guys -- for all the world this coin looks real. Grade is about VF-XF and coin has been circulated for a while. I cannot see any monkey shines about the date area so this does not appear to have been a date alteration. One of my friends pointed out that the style of the 2's is of a date later than than 1922. Still quite a conversation piece no matter how you slice it. buffnixx

Very cool coin to say the least. I have a similar unusual Buffalo nickel; it appears to be a 1930-D.
