Yes, I collect them. I have several different dates as well as related material. I even have a hobo nickel carved on one. They are way cool.

Yors is one of the crudest I have seen to date.

image with all of the above...except I don't have a hobo carved example - which I suspect would be difficult to identify as such!

What's that made from? It looks like a lead slug.

I don't collect them, but I do have one. A person at my local coin club saw a grouping of fake Buffernicks on fleaBay and bought them for a song. He then gave each member of the club one of the bogus coins.

No, but I got a lead Jefferson nickel in change once.

Are you sure that's bogus? It's got *way* more detail than my 1926-D! image

Guys -- for all the world this coin looks real. Grade is about VF-XF and coin has been circulated for a while.
I cannot see any monkey shines about the date area so this does not appear to have been a date alteration.
One of my friends pointed out that the style of the 2's is of a date later than than 1922. Still quite a
conversation piece no matter how you slice it.

Very cool coin to say the least. I have a similar unusual Buffalo nickel; it appears to be a 1930-D.

I recently bought a double struck contemporary counterfeit that was good enough to have previously traded as authentic.
