With this said orders can still be sent back 7 days after you receive it, so we won't know the final numbers for quit awhile. Probably months afterwards.
I get the feeling there will be a lot of people who think this set will be like the 25th anniversary set and load up with them resulting in them dropping in price on the secondary market. Dealers and telemarketers will buy all the need and collectors will each buy one or more for their collection so I don't see any real demand in the secondary market for these coins.

I don't think there will be any flipping on these coins. The mintage is not set and is going to be very high.
Question for all those who plan to wait until the last minute...do we expect the Mint to provide updates on sales during the sales period...or will there be a news blackout to prevent a last mint ordering frenzy?
Well the US Mint totally turned me off to the Platinum Eagles Program a few years ago. Now they are well on their way to chasing me away from their Silver Eagles.

The U.S. Mint has become the flipper now, can't blame them. They are realizing the true value of some of their offerings. I will buy 2 or 3 and watch what the dealers will offer.
I think the bulk of the upcharge is for the presentation box. The regular proof is $60 and has a plain box. It is too bad they don't have an option for just getting the coin in a plain wrapper for those who want them in graded holders.
Gold and silver are valuable but wisdom is priceless.
The only reason I want to get my own 70 graded set I want to try to preserve them with acetone bath so I hope they will be less likely to spot over the years
At $200 a set, shipping, ebay and paypal fees. What is he making $15=$20 a set.
Hope the mint doesnt decide to use the big boxes like the 2011 anniversary sets for all orders, single and multiple. Your shipping will cost you a lot more for sealed sets.

Is there actually going to be a running sales counter to alert everyone to how many of these sets have been sold...or some type of periodic reporting on sales tallies...
Or are we going to be left in the dark until sales end in July...which might be very interesting!
Yes, a sales counter was mentioned by the Mint earlier.... which will only help if the numbers are high. If they are low then expect a bunch of last day sales...

Until it's up in lights on the USM site, or released in the Register, the price is not known.
